Zim joins SA, Namibia in lockdown

Harare - Zimbabwe will go under lockdown for 21 days as part of measures to curb the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19), starting from Monday 30 March, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has announced.
The lockdown will see shops, businesses and markets shutting down. Only essential services such as health services, security and food shops will remain open. The country’s security forces will implement the lockdown.
Zimbabwe becomes the third SADC country to implement a lockdown due to Covid-19, after South Africa and Namibia which went under lockdown on Thursday and Friday respectively.
Zimbabwe has so far confirmed 5 cases of Covid-19, with one death.
