Windhoek - Namibian Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development, Tjekero Tweya, on Thursday said he is confident that the Namibian Competition Commission (NaCC)’s newly appointed board members will deliver expected results.
Speaking during a press conference to officially announce the new members at his ministry’s board room, Tweya said: “I have the pleasure to announce the appointment of Mr Linus Garoeb and Mr Peter Danial Carlson as the new entrants to the board of NaCC, effective from the 1st of May, 2019 for a period of three years until April 30th 2022.
“I am completely comfortable and content with the entire board of NaCC and I have no doubt that this board will discharge their important assignment with distinction.”
Carlson is the managing director of a number of locally owned SMEs covering business consulting and fishing. The newly appointed NaCC board member is also the chairman of the Horse Mackerel Association of Namibia. Garoeb is the minister's representative of the Omaruru Town Council and also a board member of Erongo Regional Electricity Distributor.

In terms of Section 5 (1) of the Act, the Commission consist of a chairperson and not less than two, no more than five members who are appointed by the Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development.
