SA’s Dr Tumi show was all about Jesus

Harare – While many were celebrating Dr Tumi’s debut visit in Zimbabwe, the South African worshiper described the show as ‘All about Jesus’ not him. Real name Tumisang Mak-weya, Dr Tumi had his debut per-formance in the country at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) last week during ‘Thy Kingdom Come Worship Summit’ hosted by Apostle Bat-sirai Java, founder of Tabernacle of Grace Ministries.

He shared the stage with local gospel musician; Takesure Zamar and Michael Mahendere. In an interview, Dr Tumi told The Southern Times that the show was all about glorifying the name of Jesus and intensive worship.

“It was all about Jesus tonight (Saturday night), to lift up his name not to praise any other name or anyone and I believe we were all here for the same reason,” said Dr Tumi after his performance to a full house at HICC. “It is my first time in Zimbabwe and it has been such a privilege and honour to come through. I appre-ciate the love and support really… I had a beautiful time in the presence of the Lord.

“I really appreciate Apos-tles Java’s invitation. It was such an amazing experience to come here and share the stage with my brothers: Michael and Takesure. I know Takesure, I have attended his recording back home in SA, he is really anointed to minister in wor-ship, he ministered to me, so just to share the stage with such gifts and God’s people are priceless.”

‘Thy Kingdom Come Worship Summit’ was held for the first time last week and the brainchild of the event said the event will be an annual thing with more worshipers from other countries. In an interview, the show’s organiser, Apostle Java said the whole worship summit was made possible by God who did it so that his name is glorified.

“This was an act of God, all I can say is let us keep doing this with a pure heart without any other agendas or motives other that glorifying Jesus. One day everyone who attended today’s show will be in a coffin, as such we only have limited time on earth, thus we need to invest the time we have towards heaven and this is part of the investment,” said Apostle Java. “The people who came here did not come because Apostle Java is special or Tabernacle of Grace is special, but they came because Jesus brought them here. They came because Jesus gave these men a gift for ministering through worship.

“I believe there will be a bigger platform next year and we will move from glory to glory as long as we are doing it with pure hearts and genuine motives of lift-ing Jesus’ name high.” He said in organising the con-cert, he learnt the essence of tim-ing and teamwork in preparations. “We achieved this year’s show within two months and we achieved it with our own blood and sweat, as a team. The event was a success and next year we intent on extending the days of the sum-mit to more than just a day,” said Apostle Java.
