Incumbent Namibian President Hage Geingob has won a second five year term with a margin of 464 703 representing 56.3 percent while Independent Candidate Panduleni Itula tallied 242 657 representing 29 percent, the Electoral Commission of Namibia said Saturday night.
Geingob was in a tight race with fellow SWAPO member Itula who contested as an Independent candite.
Announcing the results Chairperson of ECN said, "It is my dedtinct honor to declare Hage Geingob dully elected as at such date determined by the Namibian constitution,."
The other contestants who had a good race were Bernadus Swartbooi of Landless Peope Movement and Mc Henry Venaani of Popular Democratic Movement.
ECN added that Swapo party so won the Parliamentary elections with 63 seats, PDM with 16, Lpm with 4, Neff 2 and Nudo 2.
