The High court has ordered the MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa to pay back the $1, 8 million received from the government on behalf of the MDC-T party in March earlier this year.
Justice Dube ruled that since Thokozani Khupe was the official leader of the MDC-T party, Chamisa should return the money he received on behalf of the party from the government within 7 days.
MDC-T was given the $1, 8million under the Political Parties Finances Act.
The money has since reportedly been used by the Chamisa-led MDC as the faction has already extended a begging bowl to well-wishers.
MDC Alliance spokesperson Nkululeko Sibanda is on Tuesday scoffed at the judgment saying the party supporters are capable of raising the required amount of money.
The ruling came following the withdrawal of a court case in which Nelson Chamisa was seeking an order to stop the Khupe faction from using the party logo.
