Rehoboth – Namibian boxer and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) World Super Bantamweight champion, Paulus ‘The Rock’ Ambunda has joined Singapore-based Ringstar Boxing Management and Promotions.
This development followed after his impressive showing, and IBO World Super Bantamweight win last September, at Marina Bay Sands against Singapore’s Muhamad Ridhwan.
A statement issued on Monday said the three-time IBO world champion, who also is a former World Boxing Organisation World Bantamweight champion, is looking forward to his upcoming fights under Ringstar.
It further said Scott Farrell, founder and chief executive officer of Ringstar, which is now referred to by many as Asia’s number one boxing sports property, is also very excited to welcome Ambunda under Ringstar management.
“He still has plenty to offer and he proved that on my last show at Marina Bay Sands on 29 September, when he again claimed the IBO Super Bantamweight title. I will be taking Paulus to bigger fights and he will once again shock the world, mark my words,” Farrell was quoted as saying.
Ambunda will be joining other world-class boxers managed and promoted by Ringstar, such as IBO World Bantamweight champion Michael Dasmarinas, IBO Intercontinental Featherweight champion Muhamad Ridhwan, Thailand contender (by way of New Zealand) - IBO Asia champion Nort Beauchamp, IBO Oceania Welterweight champion Keng Fai, World Boxing Confederation Asia Continental Light Heavyweight champion Mirage Khan and New Zealand boxing champion Cairo George.
Ambunda boasts a record of 27 fights, with 11 coming by way of knock-out. He has been on the losing side twice. - Nampa
