Windhoek – South African rapper Nasty C has joined forces with 14 international acts for the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games official anthem, “Colorful”.
The song was released ago and Nasty C is the only African artist who features on the Universal Music Japan production, which comes with a video.
Joining Nasty C are Sabrina Carpenter, Sanari, Taemin and Japanese girl group Little Glee Monster, among other singers.
The catchy track is sung in both Japanese and English, with chorus celebrating “One dream, one team, together we will be as one”.
Nasty C is not new to the Japanese arts scene, and last year he shot the documentary Zulu Man in Japan in collaboration with Netflix. The documentary chronicles his ventures in the Asian country and his experiences of Japanese culture.
The Johannesburg-born superstar is flourishing on the international stage and this year his hit song with Ari Lennox, “Black and White”, was released as the lead single in the official soundtrack of the Hollywood blockbuster Coming 2 America.
The 24-year-old Def Jam artist made a breakthrough on the airwaves in the United States, where his music is gaining a following.
