Harare – Namibia’s Nathaniel Kakololo is confident of winning the WBO Intercontinental featherweight title when he squares off holder Oleg Malinovsky in Ukraine on June 12.
Kalololo, who is the Africa Boxing Union featherweight champ, will step into the ring in Malinovsky’s hometown of Kiev.
At a media conference on Wednesday before his departure for Europe, the Namibian fighter was oozing with confidence.
“I’ve said this many times – champions don’t get ready, champions stay ready. I’m the ABU Africa champion, and my preparations have gone very well,” said Kalololo
“I have prepared so well and I can’t wait for Saturday night to become the WBO intercontinental champion,” said the Namibian fighter.
Kakololo, however, said it would not be an easy task to upset the European champion, who is unbeaten in 24 fights with seven technical knockouts.
“He’s a good fighter and he’s undefeated, but he has never faced me and come Saturday night, I’m going to make him swim in deep water,” said the AFU champion.Kakololo has only lost one fight while racking up 11 victories and one no-result.
