Sandton – South Africa-based electric car manufacturer Agilitee is on a drive to establish operations in several SADC countries before the end of 2021.
Last Friday, Agilitee officially launched a range of new vehicles in Sandton a few hours after listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
Following the launch in South Africa, the company will set up shop in Zimbabwe this month with plans afoot to establish operations in Zambia, Namibia, Malawi and Botswana. Also on the company’s radar are the Rwanda, Nigeria and Kenya markets.
Agilitee CEO Dr Mandla Lamba said the company’s plan was to spread its reach across the world.
“Agilitee is a movement and our aim is to conquer the world and make the world a better place by providing electric vehicles that are environmentally friendly,” he said.
Dr Lamba said the investment by the company would create employment, improve environmental management and result in skills transfer.
